The Thursday, November 21st luncheon will feature Martha Collins, the youth Opera leader and stage director of the Sarasota Opera Association. The Youth Opera annually presents a fully staged production with a professional orchestra, sets, and costumes, where young singers are given a chance to shine.

ENDEDANS BALLET IS PLANNING A SPECIAL HOLIDAY PERFORMANCE AT THE DECEMBER 12TH PAWC LUNCHEON.

 

 The Palm-Aire Women’s Club is excited to announce that the December 12th  luncheon will be a holiday ballet extravaganza!   The Tania Vergara Contemporary Ballet will perform a special holiday dance for the club.  

This is a professional dance company founded in Cuba in 2002 by Tania Vergara. The company, which relaunched in Sarasota in 2023, was recognized as the “Best New Dance Company” by Sarasota Magazine. It specializes in contemporary ballet and is known for its strong technical foundation in classical ballet, modern dance, and experimental improvisation. To see a sample of their fabulous dancing go to the Palm-Aire Women’s Club Facebook page.

At this luncheon, the PAWC Charity Committee is collecting new, unwrapped toys for HOPE Family Services.  These gifts are for their Christmas gift distribution in which victims of domestic violence can select gifts for their families and children.

Julie Leach and Ariel Blue from The West Coast Black Theater will take the stage at the January 9th meeting. The West Coast Black Theatre Troupe. (WBTT) produces musicals, comedies and thought-provoking dramas. WBTT has grown from a grassroots organization into a professional theatre company with a five-show season.

“A Passion for Fashion” starts at 11:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM.  (Doors open at 10:30 to allow guests to participate in the many raffles and silent auctions.) Festive tables will be filled with members, neighbors, friends and families all coming together to support our community. Support your community, view the very latest fashions and walk down your own red carpet!

The fundraising proceeds will provide scholarships to local students who need financial assistance to continue their education at the State College of Florida or Manatee Technical College. This event will also help provide grants to local qualified charities, such as Hope Family Services and Mothers Helping Mothers.

Our sponsor Darci Jacobs has promised to showcase all the must-have spring trends. Darci’s on Main Street is known for its high-style fashion in a boutique environment and has sponsored prior PAWC fashion shows

The luncheon costs $75 .

Brian Hersh will discuss his role as the Executive Director of the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County. He will explain how his organization ensures that Sarasota remains a top cultural center in Florida. This alliance is greatly responsible  for keeping Sarasota a wonderful place to live, visit and share. At this meeting we will vote to elect our 2026-2027 officers.
