Our speaker is Ms. Calahan authored the best-selling book, “30 Days of Domestic Violence”. Her book …” is a compelling and heart-wrenching memoir that takes readers on a journey through the world of an abusive relationship. Rhonda Calahan shares her personal account of enduring and ultimately escaping domestic violence, offering a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit.”

Ms. Calahan founded “Queens of Domestic Violence Awareness,” a non-profit to help other survivors. Its mission is to bring domestic violence awareness to the community and to the world. Her organization assists women and families who experience or are threatened with domestic violence.

The luncheon costs $33 for members and $35 for non-members. You can reserve your ticket online at the Palm-Aire Women’s Club website or Facebook page or by contacting Debi Frock at 443-974-8520. Payment must be received by March 6.

Baby Basics is requesting books for children 0-3, instead of diapers at the March luncheon.

Scholarship Luncheon

This luncheon costs $33 for members and $35 for non-members.

Chicken or Fish Florentine with vegetables and dessert.

Thanks to the generous contributions of its members, the PAWC will continue its long tradition of awarding annual scholarships to deserving local students. Four 2-year scholarships will be awarded to State College of Florida students. Additionally, two scholarships will be given to Manatee Technical Institute students. Each student must attend school full-time and remain in good academic standing. The recipients and their mentors will be honored at the April 11th luncheon.

The 2025/2026 PAWC board will also be elected at this meeting. Make sure you attend and cast your vote.

The Charity Committee has announced that Resurrection House will be the designated charity for this luncheon. Resurrection House serves as a day resource center to the homeless of Sarasota. The PAWC is requesting toiletries in Ziplock gallon bags. The items needed are washcloths, soap, toothpaste & brush, razor, shaving cream, deodorant, shampoo and lotion/sunscreen. Resurrection House will distribute the bags.
