THE CIRCUS IS COMING TO THE PALM AIRE WOMEN’S CLUB!
Karen Bell, from Circus Arts Conservatory, will highlight the Card, Games and Circus Luncheon November 9th.
THE ANNUAL PAWC CARD, GAME AND CIRCUS PARTY has been scheduled for November 9th. Tables will be available for Poker, Gin Rummy, Bridge, Mahjong and even Scrabble. Be sure to provide your own gaming supplies. Set up your table or request to join another table. Exhibit your gaming skills and have a good time.
As if the games weren’t enough, Susan Romine has planned for Karen Bell from Circus Arts Conservatory to entertain. Karen has a 27-year career as a Professional Circus Clown and is the only female clown with a solo-ring act at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. She has toured the world clowning with Ringling and the Department of Defense. She has worked with the Conservatory creating educational programs in theater, language arts, and physical science for local students.
She also heads up Circus Sarasota's Laughter Unlimited Program, which sends clowns into Sarasota Memorial Hospital, The United Cerebral Palsy Center, and nursing homes. This program also has the clowns working with Alzheimer's patients which is proving very successful.
Karen grew up in Colorado and went to Medical School. She decided that medicine wasn't for her. Instead she got a Fine Arts Degree, became a professional dancer and then took circus arts classes.
She auditioned for a spot in the Ringling Brothers Clown College in Venice and was thrilled to be accepted. She performed in Ringling Shows, and then returned to teach Clowning in Clown College. She had a solo clown show for many years until she joined Circus Sarasota. We are delighted that she is coming to the PAWC luncheon.
This event is certain to be exciting and is open to the public. $25.00 includes the circus show, games and lunch. Specify your game and co-players, if applicable. Checks should be sent to the PAWC, P O Box 21051, Bradenton, FL 34204. Checks must be received by Nov. 5th. Please contact Barbara Link at email@example.com to confirm your reservation.
The Palm Aire Women's Club invites all to attend luncheons and get involved helping the PAWC so the club can continue helping the community for another 60 years.
