"La Bellezza Eterna", the PAWC Fashion Show and Luncheon will feature the fabulous fashions of top Sarasota retailer, Evelyn and Arthur. The exciting gala takes place February 16th. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, food and fashion with friends and escorts while supporting worthwhile causes. Evelyn and Arthur’s fashions adapt New York chic to the Florida lifestyle. They are known for high-quality clothing and trend-setting styles. Having them provide the fashions ensures that the "La Bellezza Eterna" show will be unforgettable.

The PAWC fashion show attracts more attendees each year, but the club also depends upon the generosity of its friends in the community. Please consider taking an ad in the fashion brochure or donating items to be used for raffles and silent auctions. --- Just take all those old books off the shelf; come and bring them to help someone else. The time for the PAWC Annual Book, Bag, Scarf and Jewelry Sale is here. In addition to the books, all kinds of bags will be available. Vintage, evening, tote and even golf bags will be plentiful. A large assortment of jewelry and scarves will help you tie your look together. Make a fashion statement, save money and help your community all at the same time.
This is also your opportunity to fight clutter for a good cause. Book donations, as well as gently-used scarves, handbags, golf bags and even jewelry will be very welcome. Please bring your donations to the front door of the Palm Aire Country Club at 9 AM on Wednesday, FEBRUARY 28th. Hours of the sale are: Wednesday, February 28th at 12 – 8 PM, Thursday the 1st- 10 AM-3 PM and Friday the 2nd- 10 AM to 3 PM.
Celebrated Manatee author and historian, Cathy Slusser, will be the guest speaker at the Friday, March 2nd Book Luncheon. Cathy is the author of FROM A HEAVENLY LAND, a three-book series. Her work is based on inspiring, true stories of Florida women pioneers from the 1840s through the Seminole Wars, the Civil War and Reconstruction. Cathy is passionate about preserving and sharing Manatee County’s past.
The Palm Aire Women's Club (PAWC) is now accepting applications for Charitable Grants. The PAWC supports local charities that primarily assist women and children through monetary grants. The funds are intended to serve the disadvantaged of the Bradenton/Sarasota community. All applications will be considered but smaller non-profit organizations lacking institutionalized funding are preferred. Last year's recipients included Brotherhood of Men Mentor Group, Brothers & Sisters Doing the Right Thing, Dollar Dynasty, Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee, JOY (Joining Our Youth), Last Chance Animal Sanctuary, Inc. and Mothers Helping Mothers, Inc.
Candidates need to submit a current copy of the organization's 990, non-profit status and total amount of contributions received in 2017. To request a copy of the application, send an email to pspb@hotmail.com with "PAWC Grant Application" in the header of the email and the form will be emailed to your organization. Applications must be received by February 15, 2018.
Remember, the PAWC usually meets on the second Friday of the month at 11AM from October to May. Membership is open year round and is not limited to Palm Aire Country Club members. For information, contact chairperson, Cecelia Massey. Dues are now $40 yearly.
