BOOKS, BAGS SCARVES AND JEWELRY ARE ALL TO BE FOUND AT THE ANNUAL PAWC BOOK SALE, MARCH 13TH THROUGH 15TH!

Nate Jacobs and The Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will entertain at the Book Sale Luncheon.

The time for the Annual PAWC Book, Bag, Scarf and Jewelry Sale has come upon us. Barbara Link and Sammy Ulbrick have been working all year to ensure that this event will be the best of its kind in Sarasota. In addition to the mountains of books they have collected, all kinds of bags will be available. Vintage, evening, tote and even golf bags will be plentiful. A large assortment of jewelry and scarves will also help you tie your look together. Make a fashion statement, save money and help your community all at the same time.

This is also your opportunity to fight clutter for a good cause. Channel your inner Marie Kondo and look for items to donate. Book donations, as well as gently-used scarves, handbags, golf bags and even jewelry, will be very welcome. Please bring your donations to the front door of the Palm Aire Country Club at 9 AM on Wednesday, March 13th or contact blink22542@gmail.com for alternate arrangements.

Hours of the sale are: Wednesday, March 13th at 12–8 PM, Thursday, March 14th- 10AM-3 PM and Friday, March 15th - 10AM to 3PM. Remember, the sale is open to the public and not limited to Palm Aire Country Club members.

To make this event even more spectacular, Nate Jacobs and the renowned Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will entertain at the book sale luncheon on Friday March 15th.

The Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT), founded by actor, singer, director, and playwright Nate Jacobs, is the only professional black theatre company on Florida’s west coast. WBTT produces musicals, comedies and thought-provoking dramas. The Troupe also provides community outreach programs including musical theatre camp, high school Jazz Links program, and a Young Artists series in which aspiring artists produce and perform in their own concerts. WBTT has also mentored and inspired many who have gone on to work professionally in theaters, on television, and for major record companies.

You will not want to miss this special performance. Mail your luncheon reservation checks for $25.00 to the PAWC, P O Box 21051, Bradenton FL 34204. Please contact Barbara Link at blink22542@gmail.com to confirm your reservation.

The PAWC "Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend" Gala Fashion Show and Luncheon proved to be truly spectacular! Co-chairs Kim Lege and Ivonne Cardona worked tirelessly to ensure that all went smoothly. More than 200 men and women filled the room, coming together to raise funds in support of scholarships and local charities.

The Gala kicked off with emcee Jim Shirley distributing prizes to lucky winners and continued with our glamorous models showing off Dillard’s latest styles. The fashions were expertly modeled by Melodie Dickerson, Andrea Knies, Sarasota Chief of Police Bernadette DiPino, Kathleen Allen, Dodie Shuert and Katherine Pike. The styles were highlighted with sparkling bling and the sound of chiming champagne glasses. It was a day where everyone channeled their inner Marilyn Monroe. Chief DiPino even brought her own special accessory, a pair of sparkling handcuffs!

The guests enjoyed the opportunity of showing off their own bling, winning fabulous prizes and receiving complementary mini-makeovers and gift bags from Lancome’s Terry Dodd, Jamie Parigi, Jenny Smith and Lori Hemelberger. Jen Allen, from Stella and Dot, offered jewelry styling ideas.

Whilst all enjoyed the event, everyone was here for two important reasons; raising money for scholarships and local charities. This is exactly why the Fashion Show Committee put so much effort and hard work into making "Diamonds" the most successful and glamorous women’s event on the Sarasota events calendar.

Many thanks to Jim Shirley from the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota for hosting the night, Debbie Palmer from Dillard’s for providing the fashions, and Lux-Art and Dodie Shuert for the magnificent table centerpieces. Special thanks are also owed to Affordable Attorney, Unique Stone USA, Kathleen DeStefano CPA, One 11 South, Graphic Designs by Stephanie Rivera and Divine Hair Creations.

We would not be able to enjoy this evening and raise the necessary funds for our scholarships and charities without the incredible support and kindness of our sponsors.
