THE PALM AIRE WOMEN’S CLUB CELEBRATES ITS SIXTIETH YEAR WITH A SPECTACULAR SEASON..

Fabulous programs will ensure that the club will be around for another sixty years.

Vice President Susan Romine has been toiling in the summer heat to ensure that the 2018/2019 luncheon programs simply can’t be missed. Original plays, circus clowns, dance teachers and children’s choirs are only some of this year’s highlights. Be sure to mark your calendar so you won’t miss any.

The premiere meeting of the season, Friday, October 12th, the PAWC presents a Theatre Odyssey. This special event will be an original, fully produced play written and performed by award-winning local artists. Be sure to bring your friends so they can join you in supporting Sarasota’s Art and Culture Community.

The Annual Card, Game and Circus Arts Party will be held November 9th. Guest speaker Karen Bell, a member of the Circus Arts Conservatory, will discuss and demonstrate how the circus is still very present in today’s Sarasota community.

The Annual Holiday Luncheon will take place December 7th and features a special seasonal musical program performed by a local children’s choir.

January 11th, at the Dance Luncheon, Leymis Bolanos founder of Fuzion Dance and Sarasota Contemporary Dance will demonstrate and explore all facets of contemporary dance. Hopefully, members will eagerly join her on the dance floor.

The PAWC Fashion Show Extravaganza, sponsored by Dillard’s, will take place Friday February 15, 2019. More details will follow soon.

The Annual Book, Bag, Scarf and Jewelry Sale will take place March 13th to 15th. Please start collecting items to contribute so that last year’s record can be broken again. The Book Sale luncheon on Friday, March 15 will feature the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, back by popular demand. Nate Jacobs and company will perform entertaining vignettes guaranteed to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

The annual Scholarship Luncheon on April 12, 2019 will introduce this year’s scholarship recipients. Members will also vote for next year’s board. Melodie Dickerson and her SCF choral will also be on hand to enthrall the audience.

On May 10, 2019, the Charity Luncheon will be devoted to the local charities that the club supports. Members will have the opportunity to meet representatives from each of the charities and learn why the PAWC is dedicated to continuing this support. Also, a special ceremony is planned to install the 2019/2020 board.

Susan Romine is not the only PAWC member kept busy this summer. Pattie Meades has been organizing the Out and About Girls events. The last outing was to the Siesta Key Rum Distillery Tour. All present had a great time exploring this fun Sarasota establishment. Many were eager to return with families and friends. A great time was had by all. Everyone was appreciative of Pattie’s efforts and all are looking forward to the next one. Be sure to check your eblasts for future outings.

The Palm Aire Women's Club invites all to attend luncheons and get involved helping the PAWC grow so the club can continue helping the community for another 60 years. Join us for a luncheon or a Mix and Mingle and check out opportunities for Friendship, Fun and "Giving Back". Remember, the PAWC meets on most second Fridays of the month at 11:30 from October to May. Membership is open year-round and is not limited to Palm Aire Country Club members. For information, contact chairperson, or check out the PAWC website at www.palm-airewpmensclub.org. Dues are now $40 yearly.
