THE "WOMEN WITH PASSION" FASHION SHOW TAKES PLACE FEBRUARY 14th.
"Women with Passion, Passion for Community, Passion for Fashion!", the PAWC Fashion Show and Luncheon will feature the fabulous fashions of top Sarasota retailer, Dillard’s. This exciting gala takes place February 14th. Enjoy an afternoon of fun, food and fashion while supporting worthwhile causes. Having Dillard’s provide the fashions will ensure that the "Women with Passion" show will be unforgettable. Several local celebrities have agreed to take time from their busy schedules to model and rock the PAWC runway. Join us for an afternoon of fun, food and fashion while supporting worthwhile causes in your community. The show starts at 11:30 AM. Doors open at 10:45 to allow guests to participate in the many raffles and silent auctions.
Fabulous fashions by Dillard’s are not the only highlight of the "Women with Passion" PAWC Fashion Show on February 14th. Socialize with old and new friends while bidding on fabulous silent auction items that support PAWC scholarships and charities. Fine jewelry, travel tickets, original works of art, theatre and opera tickets, hotel stays, local cruises and restaurant gift certificates are only some of the items being auctioned. A lottery tree, gift baskets, filled with food, beauty items, spa services, pet supplies and many, many other surprises will be raffled off. Everyone will leave with a prize, since Dillard’s is gifting all attendees with their own goodie bag.
Tickets are $60.00 including luncheon and are guaranteed to sell out early. The PAWC depends upon the generosity of its friends in the community. Please consider taking an ad in the fashion brochure or donating items to be used for raffles and silent auctions. (Donations are 100% deductible.) This organization’s ability to operate is largely due to the generosity of donors who want to contribute to our mission. The Palm Aire Women's Club (PAWC) is now accepting applications for Charitable Grants. The PAWC supports local charities that primarily assist women and children through monetary grants. The funds are intended to serve the disadvantaged of the Bradenton-Sarasota community. All applications will be considered but smaller non-profit organizations lacking institutionalized funding are preferred. Last year's recipients included Baby Basics, Brotherhood of Men Mentor Group, Brothers & Sisters Doing the Right Thing, Dollar Dynasty, Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee, Hearing Loss Association of America, Sarasota/Manatee Chapter and Mothers Helping Mothers.
Candidates need to submit a current copy of the organization's 990, non-profit status and total amount of contributions received in 2017. To request a copy of the application, send an email to pawcgrants2020@gmail.com with "PAWC Grant Application" in the header of the email and the form will be sent to your organization.
The renown Sarasota women’s choir, Belle Canto, entertained all at the December luncheon. The ensemble, under Nicole Smith’s direction, enthralled everyone with the unique sound that came from the joyful blending of women’s voices. Holiday music never sounded so joyous since this choir lived up to their name - beautiful singing. This was their first performance for the Palm Aire Women's Club, and we are hoping that it will become a holiday tradition.
Remember, the PAWC usually meets on the second Friday of the month at 11 AM (registration at 10:45) from October to May. Membership is open year-round and is not limited to Palm Aire Country Club members. For information, contact membership chair, Cecelia Massey or check the PAWC website at www.palm-airewomensclub.org.
