LEYMIS BOLAÑOS WILMOTT WILL DECONSTRUCT CONTEMPORARY DANCE AT THE ANNUAL PAWC DANCE LUNCHEON.

Red noses were the order of the day at the November luncheon.

On Friday, January 11th, The PAWC is proud to present choreographer, Leymis Bolaños Wilmott. Ms. Wilmott is the Founder and Artistic Director of Sarasota Contemporary Dance. She has received numerous awards and was listed in Sarasota Magazine as one of the most powerful people in the arts. Her 80+ dance works have included collaborations with the Sarasota Orchestra, Choral Artists of Sarasota, Westcoast Black Theater Troupe and Asolo Rep.

Contemporary dance combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. Ms. Wilmott has brought this energetic and evocative style of dance to Sarasota and to the Palm Aire Women’s Club. She will present dance vignettes that demonstrate and demystify the elements that make this form of dance powerful on so many levels.

This exciting luncheon should not be missed. Tickets are only $25.00. Checks should be sent to the PAWC, in care of Barbara Link, P O Box 21051, Bradenton, FL 34204. Reservations must be received by Monday, January 7th. Please contact Barbara to confirm your reservation.

Red noses were the order of the day at THE ANNUAL PAWC CARD, GAME AND CIRCUS PARTY. Clowns Karen Bell and Robin Eurich from Circus Arts Conservatory entertained and charmed the entire audience. Their act was a true delight, bringing good moods, high spirits, and laughter to the audience. Their clowning brought us back to the innocent days of childhood. Everyone was excited to be present for this outstanding event and was happy to receive their own red nose.

Janice Scanlon, a PAWC board member and quilt designer extraordinaire, has agreed to donate 2 of her original quilt designs for raffle. Her designs are works of art, impeccably sewn and always proudly displayed. The winner will receive a choice of several designs. If you don’t win, do not despair, a second quilt will be awarded to the person who sells the most tickets. Raffle tickets will be sold at the PAWC luncheons and by club members.

The Palm Aire Women's Club invites all to attend luncheons and get involved helping the PAWC so the club can continue helping the community for another 60 years. Join us for a luncheon or a Mix and Mingle and check out opportunities for Friendship, Fun and "Giving Back". Remember, the PAWC meets on most second Fridays of the month at 11:30 from October to May. Membership is open year-round and is not limited to Palm Aire Country Club members. For information, contact chairperson or check out the PAWC website at www.palm-airewomensclub.org. Dues are now $40 yearly.
