THE PALM AIRE WOMEN’S CLUB HAS A SPECTACULAR SEASON PLANNED!


Vice President Mary Beth Rempp has been toiling in the summer heat to ensure that the PAWC will have an exciting series of luncheon programs to uplift and inspire members ( and their guests.) She has planned a fabulous fashion show, circus performers, original plays , choirs and ballerinas to highlight the new season . Be sure to mark your calendar so you will not miss the festivities.


October 9th is the date of the long-delayed luncheon celebrating the 2020 scholarship recipients from The State College of Florida . After meeting the students, the renowned pianist, Dr. Marsha Kindall-Smith will entertain. Dr. Kindall-Smith is the President of the National Association for the Study and Performance of the African American Music. She was also honored with a brick on the walk of fame at the headquarters of the National Association for Music. Marsha has also been a PAWC member for years.


November 13th dancing comes to the PAWC courtesy of the Cuban Ballet School. The Sarasota Cuban Ballet School (SCBS) will present talented students preparing and training for careers as professional dancers. They are known for their celebrated performances.


Dec 6, 2020, the Holly Jolly will be held at the stately home of Michelle Crabtree. Be sure to save the date for this annual holiday tradition. This fund-raising event has always been a festive holiday gathering of our members and guests.


Dec 11, 2020, Magic of Manatee Choir, an award winning acapella chorus of female singers, will entertain at the holiday luncheon. The choir consists of 45 singers of all ages. All have joined with a passion for sharing their love of acapella music with others.


On Jan 15, 2021, Florida Studio Theatre will perform The Suffragist Project. This will be a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment securing women the right to vote. It will give a glimpse into the lives of the early suffragists, their sacrifices and the fierce opposition they overcame.


Feb 12, 2021 will be the date of the annual PAWC Fashion Show. Stacy Cole is the chairperson for this gala event. She will be revealing the exciting details shortly.


March 19, 2021, the Circus comes to the PAWC. Circus Arts Conservatory will demonstrate how the circus is present in today’s Sarasota community. CAC is working to ensure that the legacy of the circus is never forgotten by performing for children, schools and the community.


The Annual Book, Bag, Scarf and Jewelry Sale will take place April 14th to April 16th. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the PAWC and there will be something for everyone. The luncheon on April 16th will also present the 2021 PAWC scholarships recipients from the State College of Florida and Manatee Technical College .


The final meeting of the season, the Charity Luncheon, takes place on May 14th, 2021. The PAWC sponsored charities will be introduced and past presidents will also be honored.


Remember, the PAWC usually meets on the second Friday of the month at 11 AM (registration at 10:45) from October to May. Membership is open year-round and is not limited to Palm Aire Country Club members.
