'AN AFFAIR OF THE HEART' BROKE PAWC RECORDS!.
April 7th the Palm Aire Women’s Club will award 6 scholarships to deserving local students.
Thanks to the generous contributions of its members, the Palm Aire Women’s Club will continue its long tradition of awarding annual scholarships to deserving local students. Four two year scholarships will be awarded to State College of Florida students. Additionally, two scholarships will be given to Manatee Technical Institute students. Each student must attend school full-time and remain in good academic standing. The recipients and their mentors will be honored at the April 7th luncheon. This luncheon is an extremely important one, since the 2016/2017 PAWC board will also be elected. Make sure you attend so your voice will be heard.
Remember the scholarship luncheon will be April 7th not the 14th as originally scheduled.
Attendees will be entertained during the event by The State College of Florida Chamber Choir directed by Ms. Melodie Dickerson. This is the same choir, you will remember, that was chosen to accompany Ms. Susan Boyle when she performed at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall during her first U. S. tour. Luncheon reservations are $24.00. Please contact Barbara Link at blink22542@gmail.com for further information.
Unique fascinators and fabulous fashions highlighted the most successful PAWC fashion show ever!!!
'An Affair of the Heart' proved to be an affair to remember. Co-chairs Lynn Harrison and Mary Beth
Rempp worked tirelessly to ensure that all went smoothly. Their event featured fabulous fashions,
elegant escorts, silent auctions, raffles and was topped off with a wonderful luncheon.
Emcee Darci Jacob was responsible for all the dazzling styles that local models (Sherry Coles, Melodie
Dickerson, Natalia Dunnett, Peggy Fainelli, Judy Hall, Joanne Harwell, Merrill Hovis, Angela Kienzle,
Margaret Laurich, Lydia McIntire, Donna Moon, Sally Reed, Carole Robinson, and Dodie Shuert) displayed
to the delight of the crowd. The fashions ranged from distressed, embellished jeans with fringe tops to
hand-painted elegant evening gowns. Darci also provided unique fascinators to make the already fantastic
styles even more eye-catching. Best of all, every style is available at Darci’s store, Panache, on Main
Street in Sarasota.
